Ghostbusters was a transformative movie for me. And the tools of the ghostbusting trade are a huge part of that. I'm not ready to tackle the complicated Proton Pack, but a wee ghost trap seemed doable. The research for this build was pretty simple. There's already big Ghostbusters fan site online that have thoroughly researched this prop. I downloaded some plans and built the structure out of MDF. The trap's details are a combination of aluminum and resin casts of the accurate knobs and doo-dads that were on the screen-used traps. The electronics are pretty basic. One switch fires up some pulsating lights, the other ignites 75 surface-mount LEDs on the inside for the glowing trap effect.
